New Beginnings
After Steve Jobs resigned from Apple, he started NeXT Inc. with 7 million dollars in his pocket, a few years later when he was running out of money, billionaire Ross Perot invested great amounts of money in the company and Jobs later introduced the NeXT station, which sold for $9,999. NeXT computers were considered technologically advanced for its time with the Ethernet port and the digital signal processor chip, both things that were experimental at the time. In 1996 NeXT started a software called Web Objects, and when they were bought out by Apple they used the software to make iTunes, the Apple store, and Mobile Me.
Another business venture Jobs started was buying out a company named The Graphics Group, later renamed Pixar. The first movie they made was Toy Story, which was a huge hit and brought a lot of attention to the company. In 2006 when a new Disney executive named Bob Iger wanted to partner with Pixar again, he gave jobs 7% of Disney's worth making Steve Jobs the biggest shareholder in Disney.
